Applying a resilience lens strengthens the integration of climate risks and opportunities into the design and delivery of investments by enhancing the capacity of people, assets, institutions and infrastructure to harness and/or respond to the impacts of shocks and stresses.
Lessons from the Resilience Tool Application
- The Resilience Booster Tool allows a broad range of climate risks to be exemplified and understood by non-experts, paving the way for climate resilience to be understood concretely.
- The combination of resilience attributes and core capacities (absorptive, adaptive, and transformative) allows risks to be prioritized through climate-resilient interventions.
- The Resilience Booster Tool helped the project team to make broader social and development linkages.
- Robustness, learning, and Inclusion were the top three resilience attributes leveraged in projects to build resilience.
- The Tool helped the project to improve their climate co-benefits score more effectively – as part of the World Bank’s overall target for 35% of its financing.
