The Africa Climate Resilient Investment Facility (AFRI-RES) established to support African Countries and stakeholders with the tools and capacity to integrate climate resilience in investments in critical sectors has delivered on the following;
- project-level technical assistance of over 30 projects across 10 sectors. AFRI-RES received just-in-time grants (for € 2.2 million) to deepen climate resilience in investments totaling $8 BN in IDA/IBRD financing.
- AFRI-RES embedded resilience into projects in traditional (agriculture, water, etc.) and non-traditional (energy, health, finance competitiveness, and innovation) sectors
- Generated learning and lessons which have informed the climate resilience sector guidance notes and knowledge products.
- Training, outreach and dissemination; an online and in-person in-depth technical training on the integration of climate resilience in key sectors and; Building and strengthening expertise in the integration of climate resilience into PIDA projects, as well as leveraging high-level platforms to promote AFRI-RES and paradigm shift for climate resilient investments
- Strategic engagement with the public and private sectors, through the African Climate Resilience and Development summit (ACRIS)
