The Republic of Cameroon is a west-central African nation. It borders Nigeria to the west and north, Chad to the northeast, the Central African Republic to the east, and Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south. Its coastline is located along the Bight of Biafra, which is part of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean. Due to its location at the crossroads of West Africa and Central Africa, it has been classified as belonging to both factions. Its nearly 27 million inhabitants speak 250 native tongues in addition to English, French, or both.
